GIVING Away Smiles! :)

I LOVE to cross stitch, and since starting this "mission to make people smile" I've been wondering about how I could incorporate it into the project. Finally, I got an idea! It was to design a Smiley Face pattern that I could cross stitch on fabric, and then press into 2 1/4" pinback button using my button machines! There's just something about a Smiley Face that makes you feel like smiling when you see it, and that's what Operation Smiley Face is all about! I have already stitched up a few and I really love the way they turned out. Here's s a sample of one of them: Now here's the fun part. I am making these and GIFTING them (giving them away) to anyone that wants one FREE! There is no charge for them. YES, you read that right. No charge. :)

I have always wanted to do something like this. Then recently I came across two amazing people that really inspired me to just go for it. You can check their stories out at the links below:

The way it will work is that you email me your name and mailing address (it will not be shared with anyone!) I will keep a running list of the names I receive and will mail out the buttons in the order that I received the requests. I will be doing this at my own pace and do not make any promises or predictions as to exactly when you will receive your button. I love to try different color combinations with the fabric and the floss (the thread) so you never know what combination you will get, and that's part of the fun! (If you have a favorite color you can let me know that in your email, and I will try to incorporate it into your button.) If you receive a color combo that you find less than pleasant perhaps you can pass it on to someone else that might enjoy it. Occasionally, I may send a pocket mirror or a magnet instead of a pin to keep things fun (the front will still be a Smiley Face, just the back will be different). *You will be able to see where you are in "line" to receive your pin on the list to the right. Feel free to spread the word. :)

I am doing this FREE of charge, but if you would like to make a contribution toward the cost of the fabric, floss, or stamps I will accept it. It is not required though. Your button will be sent as promised no strings attached. :)

I am doing this because I think it will be fun, and I hope that it will make YOU smile to receive your own custom pin. I also hope that you will be inpsired to make someone else smile in your own way. :)
